Accidental Damage Protection and Warranty Management
Accidents happen. A dropped laptop, a cracked screen, or a spilled coffee can take a device out of action and disrupt productivity – sometimes at the worst possible time. Computer Alliance offers accidental damage protection and warranty management options that keep your devices covered and your team working, without unexpected repair costs.
Whether you’re managing a fleet of student laptops, equipping a mobile workforce, or deploying devices to field workers, we provide protection plans that suit your environment and your budget.
Accidental Damage Protection
We offer a range of vendor-specific accidental damage protection (ADP) options that cover damage beyond standard manufacturer warranties – drops, spills, cracked screens, and other mishaps that occur during normal use.
ADP options can be tailored to your organisation’s requirements and are available for laptops, tablets, and other portable devices. Protection plans can be included as part of your initial device procurement or added to an existing fleet.
For schools, ADP is particularly valuable for student device programs where devices are handled daily by young users. Protecting against accidental damage reduces unexpected repair costs and keeps students learning with minimal disruption.
Warranty Support and Escalation
While warranty support is primarily the responsibility of the device manufacturer, things don’t always go smoothly. Computer Alliance provides additional support for warranty escalation and management that improves on standard vendor offerings:
- Warranty escalation – we advocate on your behalf when manufacturer warranty processes aren’t meeting expectations
- Accidental damage repair coordination – we manage the repair process, simplifying vendor engagement
- Device collection and re-delivery – we can collect damaged devices and return them once repaired, reducing the logistical burden on your team
Keep Your Drive
Data security doesn’t stop when a device needs repair. Our Keep Your Drive program ensures that when a device is removed from your environment for warranty service or repair, the storage drive is retained by you. Your data stays within your control at all times, even when the hardware leaves your premises.
This is essential for organisations handling sensitive, classified, or regulated data – particularly in government and education – where data custody requirements are strict.
How It Works
1. Select your protection level
during device procurement, your account manager will recommend ADP and warranty options that suit your environment and usage patterns
2. Devices are covered from day one
protection begins when devices are deployed
3. Report an issue
when damage occurs, contact our team and we’ll coordinate the repair or replacement process
4. Device is repaired or replaced
we manage the logistics, keeping your team informed and minimising downtime
Part of the Device Lifecycle
Accidental damage protection and warranty management are key components of our Device Lifecycle Program. From procurement and provisioning through deployment, support, and secure retirement, we manage every stage of the device journey.
